Pros: Excellent Price/performance ratio, fast to lock, current maps
Cons: All the basic features you need, but few extra's.
The Bottom Line: The Maestro 3100 does everything it claims in fine fashion. It is a great first or replacement GPS for any "cost sensitive" driver.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: The Magellan Maestro 3100 is a new entry level automobile GPS system, the least expensive model in Magellan's line of Maestro GPS units. While clearly an entry level GPS, and lacking some popular high end features, the 3100 is built around...

Pros: excellent price, quickspell feature, functionality and usabilty are solid
Cons: voice interface can be annoying
The Bottom Line: In my experience, this is the best GPS out there for the money. It contains all the basics, works well and is an affordable entry-level unit.

Review: Prior to the Holiday season I had been toiling with the prior generation of GPS system for my vehicle. While I already had a Magellan, circa 2001, I knew it needed updated as I further realized the technology had increased and my old one had lost...

Pros: Save yourself from guess work when trying to get to where you are going.
Cons: There are none. For basic navigation the unit gets the job done!
The Bottom Line: buy it and save the stress for other issues in life!
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I bought the 3100 on sale!!! Before I bought this unit, I had only used a hand held GPS with no Map. I had to enter coordinates and name the Waypoints. It worked great for walking etc, but now I have a GPS with moving map! Big leap for me!!!

Pros: Inexpensive, durable, intuitive, easy to use on screen features, and spot on accurate.
Cons: None....at this price and with these features I have no complaints.
The Bottom Line: Highest recommendation! I have never been lost, or confused, even when encountering accidents which have closed expected routes of travel thanks to the Maestro.

Review: The Magellan Mastro 3100 GPS is well rounded, does everything well, and is a good value for the money. The unit itself is attractive and even stylish. The LCD screen is bright and easy to read in both daylight and night. It dims automatically...

Pros: it's a GPS
Cons: lengthy calibration periods, sometimes poor directions, lack of features, unresponsive touch screen, battery life
The Bottom Line: Let me make this clear: I only recommend this if you need a cheap, mildly effective GPS to get you there. You can do better for a little more.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: Make no mistake, Magellan's Maestro 3100 is a no-frills, entry-level GPS. Will it get you from Point A to Point B? yeah. Will it always choose the fastest way, play your tunes, connect to your phone and wipe your butt? Don't count on it.

Pros: don't know - couldn't ever use it
Cons: nonexistent customer support after the sale
The Bottom Line: Be absolutely certain you understand the limitations - and don't expect any service after the sale.

Review: I cannot speak to the product's performance as we never got to use it. The 3100 was purchased as a gift; we live in Europe and received the gift during the holidays while in the US. Although the website clearly states that the European maps are...

Pros: Quick, advanced, finds great routes
Cons: If you are out of range or caught in a downpour, it will stall.
The Bottom Line: This is a wonderful tool for a much needed break of asking for directions! Works great, knows almost every address you enter in, even new construction.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I travel for work quite frequently, and instead of being on the phone, and asking for directions, I was given this Global Positioning Satellite system to use when visiting customers, to get there as quickly and painlessly as possible.

Pros: Great price, wonderful interface, great search interface, and nice detour capabilities
Cons: Lack of text to speech, tight car attachment, battery life too short for pedestrian use.
The Bottom Line: You want a GPS and on a tight budget? Look for a Maestro 3100 on sale! You'll love it.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: There are lots of units out there for $200. But when you actually use it, you realize why it costs $200. Then you pickup Maestro 3100. It looks rather simple. Power it on outside and GPS locks on quickly. You scroll the screen and it pans fast. Then...
