Tough, bright, economical

The Bottom Line: This is an excellent value, since most WalMart's carry it for around 20 dollars. Very tough, reliable, and bright.
MagLite has been known for producing durable flashlights, and show great reliability. This 4D cell unit is no exception to the assumptions.
The body is made of an excellent aluminum alloy, which is very strong, yet light. The anodized finish can be scratched, but it's still a durable finish, and the loss of the finish doesn't affect the functionality in any way, shape, or form.
The unit can withstand a heavy impact, and still function just fine, making it a very popular choice amongst those who might have to rely on a heavy duty flashlight, such as law enforcement officers, security personnel, etc.
As with all MagLite flashlights, the head of the flashlight can be rotated, allowing the user to have the choice of a widely scattered beam of light for illuminating larger areas, or a tightly focused beam of light for maximum illumination of a smaller area.
The incandescent bulb that comes installed will last for many years of regular use, and the end cap has a spare light bulb hidden beneath the sponge foam bottom, giving the user even more years of good use.
Incandescent light bulb replacements are cheap, and readily available. There are also various LED-based bulbs available that offer a brighter light, while expending less battery power.
