If You Must...
Pros:
It's a cheap alternative to the offical controller. Extra button.
Cons:
Extra button almost useless, control is kind of big, not compatible with Agent Under Fire.
The Bottom Line:
It's a fairly good product that has a few shortcomings. It will save you money, but it's all about prefrence.

Author's Review
If you must need a controller and don't want to pay a whole lot, the Mad Catz Cubicon is a suitable choice if you can get pat it's shortcomings. It should be noted that the offical controller is only $5 more, and is better in quality. But putting that aside, is the Cubicon any better than the offical product. The quick answer is no.
The Cubicon is a solid made controller, but there's a couple of problems. One, it's a bit bigger than the offical controller and the size of a normal PS2 controller. Not too good for small hands. Two, the sticks (normal analog control and C-analog) take a little more effort to use. They don't glide as easy as the Nintendo controller. Three, the analog shoulder buttons aren't as refined or as precise as the offical controller. It more of a give than the offical make. Fourth, the controller doesn't work with Agent Under Fire, and Mad Catz knows this. But all is not lost, they will provide a replacement or repair if it fails to work with the game. It should be noted that it does work with other Electronic Arts games such as SSX Tricky or Freekstyle. Finally, the extra button, called a "macro" is gimmicky. It's hard to program, and if you do get it right, it doesn't work like it should. It also only works with the digital buttons and not the analog controls.
So what's the good stuff? The button placement is a little better, especially for the shoulder buttons. The Z button is easier to use and press and gives more of the feeling you're using a PS2 controller. The other thing is that I did get used to it (the controller), and it does work fine. The rumble function is good and other than not working with Agent Under Fire, it does work with other games. It is a guarnteed product and Mad Catz stands behind their work.
So now ask yourself this, do you want to save $5 and buy a control that you might not like or go for the real deal? It's up to you. Personally, it's a good, but not great controller. It does what it says, and I can play multiplayer games. Look into other controllers and see what you want.
**Mad Catz recently released a smaller version of this controller.
