The Mercedes of Strollers - The Maclaren Volo

by   vein ,  May 21, 2004
Pros: light, easy to push, great turning radius
Cons: expensive
The Bottom Line: If you need an umbrella stroller more than once a year, this should be your first choice.
Review: I’d suffered through over a year of our horrible Evenflo stroller. The design was so poor that there was very little I liked about it, even though it was used every few weeks at most. Determined to find something better, I quickly came across ...

The Maclaren Volo – Highly Recommended

by   pezheadval ,  Mar 21, 2003
Pros: Lightweight, Easy to Use, Sturdy, Basket
Cons: A bit Pricey.
The Bottom Line: Although this is more expensive then the typical umbrella stroller, it is worth every penny. I highly recommend this stroller.
Review: When my daughter turned 2, we started looking for a new stroller. We had the Graco Sterling LiteRider Stroller, but we wanted to get a smaller, umbrella type stroller. We tried out some of the cheaper umbrella strollers and were really unhappy with...

Works for baby and mama too

by   willsmama ,  Apr 5, 2004
Pros: Light but very capable
Cons: No shade from sun.
The Bottom Line: Top of the line, dependable, basic umbrella stroller to take that soon to be toddler into the future.
Review: We inherited a jogging stroller and a big Combi stroller. While the Combi was relatively light, it wasn't an umbrella stroller and was only practical when our son was in his infant carrier. The jogging stroller is great for long walks, but it isn't ...

Well worth the money!

by   mishmaroo ,  Jan 2, 2004
Pros: Lightweight, easy to carry, maneuver, fold. Mesh seat, shoulder strap.
Cons: price, no included sun shade
The Bottom Line: I would highly recommend this stroller. The light weight and overall ease of use make it a great stroller not only for traveling, but for everyday use as well.
Review: 4/24/09 updateJust wanted to let people know that this stroller is STILL in service. It's currently carting my 3 year old newphew around.  It still looks and performs like new.  You'd never know it was a 6 year old stroller. ...

Volo - good entry-level Maclaren

by   lturn ,  Feb 3, 2004
Pros: Small, extremely lightweight. Easy to clean, five-point harness.
Cons: Becomes a bit costly to add accessories - like sun shade.
The Bottom Line: The Volo is a great city stroller for older babies and toddlers.
Review: Two kids, five car seats and four strollers later, we have finally figured out what works. We own a Maclaren Techno and Maclaren Volo. I will not review the Techno, because the version we have is no longer available (ours is the 2001 model). A ...

great upgrade from an inexpensive umbrella stroller

by   jenaye ,  May 2, 2007
Pros: lightweight, great for travel, fun colors, rides well, nice upgrades
Cons: a little expensive for what it is, a splurge
The Bottom Line: i would recommend if you don't mind overpaying a bit
Review: I purchased the Volo (in orange) as a lightweight stroller for travel. My son was 4 1/2 when we purchased it. Our regular stroller was a Peg Perego Pliko and I was looking for something a little easier to travel with now that my son was older. I ...

Great for large babies and taller parents.

by   eunnycook ,  Dec 28, 2005
Pros: great for fat and tall babies, superlight, tall parent must have
Cons: small storage area, no window in the sunshade
The Bottom Line: The best choice for any chubby - tall babies with tall parents. Super light, high quality, great for everyday.
Review: My 1 year old daughter was 32lbs and 33" tall. We had definately outgrown her Graco travel system stroller and I was looking for an umbrella stroller that could handle our robust baby, plus I wanted something lighter. Another huge factor was I am 5'7" ...

by   cantonmom ,  Oct 30, 2006
Pros: Easy to open/close, high handles more comfortable to push, smooth ride, easy to clean
Cons: No cup holder or tray for baby, and small storage basket...and price

This stroller rocks!!

by   starshaped ,  Mar 24, 2004
Pros: Light-weight, extremely portable, great for flying.
Cons: No cup holder or sun shade in this model.
Review: In the three years since our son was born, we've gone through quite a few strollers (one for grandma's house, one for mom's car, one for dad's car, etc.). But the MacClaren is the workhorse of our collection. It's light, portable, easy to open and close, ...

My favorite

by   hate2cook ,  Jan 7, 2005
Pros: Lightweight, folds and opens easily, maneuvers great.
Cons: Fabric could be a tad softer, but might not be as durable if it were.
Review: I have two children that are under the age of 4 so I have been through quite a few strollers in the last few years. I have to say that the Maclaren Volo is my absolute favorite. Although it would probably not be good for a small baby, I would say once ...
