Quick Pre-Christmas releases are not supposed to be this good

by   becker40 ,  Jun 16, 2005
Pros: Greatest Hits, and then some. King Of Pain.....just listen, you will understand.
Cons: A little boring when you hear the over-played hits.
The Bottom Line: Beautiful vocals, and great songs. Buy it!
Review: Alright, Christmas time was approaching and Alanis Morissette didn't have any new material to release. That is an easy enough problem to solve. She played MTV Unplugged and released it right as people were looking to unload some money. The weird thing ...

Alanis Shines Heavy On First Live Album

by   debfan74 ,  Feb 26, 2008
Pros: This is a great perfomance from Alanis and company! Great songs!
Cons: A couple songs are missing
The Bottom Line: This album shows Alanis live and it is a great cd to sit and listen to!
Review: In 1995, Alanis Morissette took the world by storm with her debut album, Jagged Little Pill. Alanis took the grammy winning album twice around the world and really became a house hold name! By the time Jagged Little Pill ended its run on the charts, ...

When Was The Last Time Music Brought You To Tears?

by   pj_the_pug ,  Nov 2, 2001
Pros: inspirational and beautiful music, power vocals
Cons: I wish I could have picked the setlist she performed
The Bottom Line: Alanis hits another stellar performance.
Review: I just reviewed Alanis' 1998 release, "Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie" but I was so impressed with that CD that I had to follow up and get this CD. I guess until now I never knew how much I really liked Alanis Morissette.

I actually saw a...

Too early for a Greatest Hit Album? I think not

by   AmberM ,  Nov 8, 2000
Pros: Alanis' talent shines through on the live album, songs that are previously unreleased are on the album, Univited is located on this album, and the sheer depth of emotion and feeling that is felt through the music.
Cons: Some of the songs have a bit of a sloppiness and unarticulated words, a couple songs sound similar, live studio audience's applause and screams
Review: I received Alanis unplugged last year as a christmas eve gift from my brother. I never thought I would be so happy to receive a gift from my archnemesis...or I mean dearly loved sibling. I will admit, I am a huge Alanis Morissette fan and I...

Alanis who?

by   silktempest ,  Mar 4, 2008
Pros: Unplugged funeral
Cons: It didn't sell remotely like what MTV expected
The Bottom Line: ALANIS's Unplugged set - tamed, mildly charming
Review: Back in 1995 I wondered when MTV Awards would feature a girl from Canada all but unknown under the Ecuador line. With her Nevermind of sorts - Jagged Little Pill - ALANIS MORISSETTE quickly erased all those doubts and more. Her confessional ...

Alanis' Acoustic Attempt

by   sunwolf ,  Sep 11, 2000
Pros: Solid performances, a little new material
Cons: Same old same old, nothing earth-shattering
Review: Hmmmm.... How shall I put this?

Ok. Alanis has 3 US albums (forget the canadian releases, 'k?). Out of those three, I like this one the least. There. I've said it.

I guess two or 3 things go into this decision. One - I have...

Alanis at her Worst

by   langy ,  Apr 15, 2001
Pros: A few well known songs.
Cons: Soulless and unoriginal.
The Bottom Line: If you like Alanis, you'll probably enjoy this release, but for me, I'd prefer to listen to someone who appears to enjoy what she does.
Review: I have never really been a huge fan of Alanis Morrissette, and it was only this morning that I first listened to the MTV Unplugged CD. I only heard it because my partner put it in the CD player to wake him up. I didn't even know he owned this CD until I...
