Not recommended, maybe.

Cons:  Weak receiver. Non-positive keys.

Overall Rating: 3/5 stars

Author's Review

At $70 from Geeks.com I thought this was a good deal.
For a 16-channel WAAS enabled GPS I'm very disappointed in its ability to acquire and keep a lock.
Yes it has a lot of detail but on the small screen it's hard to read for old eyes.
The buttons are hard to use; never quite sure if didn't press hard enough or the unit is too busy to respond.
I can only compare to what I've used before: the Magellan GPS 310 and GPS 315. Keys much easier to use and easier to read. Considering that the Go2 is a later generation of GPS I expected more from it in terms of its ability to acquire and lock on to satellites.

Addendum 4 July 2006: This weekend I took it out on an open field under clear skies and it finally locked on with WAAS on about 6 to 8 satellites. Yet the altitude varied at least +- 50 feet from the known elevation.

It now does lock on reasonably fast on the dashboard in my car.

So, as a cheap entry level GPS for marine or open field use,
it works.
