You do have an enemy.

First off, if you have ever read the Screwtape letters by CS Lewis (and liked it) you will love Lord Foulgrins Letters!

Imagine that you have an enemy. (You do you know, or maybe you don't!) What if you found out that he was writing secret letters about you to others who are also your enemy? What if you could get your hands on those letters and find out what they are planning against you?

That is what this book is! The character is not the one who finds the letters though - you are of course! You are able to read the letters written from demons to lesser demons and observe the characters life in light of those letters.

The Demon in charge of the main character is Lord Foulgrin. He plainly discusses his different attack plans on this man and on others. He writes about tricking "stupid humans" into thinking that he is a god or into believing that he is a friendly spirit who has come to guide them. He laughs at how easy it is to fool them and drag them into hell. He delights in their torture and pain.

Of course demons are not the whole story. The enemy in his foolishness reveals a truth about humans that most humans don't even realize. They are made in the image of Almighty God and have His love and favor extended to them through Jesus! The demons do all that they can to prevent the humans from finding that out. They are willing to give them use of their supernatural powers, wealth, etc - if it will just keep them in the dark about the truth.

Whether you believe today that demons are real, this book will get you thinking.
