As rugged as two Clint Eastwood movies, and 12x as long!

No character ever played by Clint Eastwood, John Wayne, or even my idol Chuck Norris could even come close to being as awesome as Gus McRae,or Deets, or even some of the other fine characters in this epic. Larry McMurtry didn't waste a page of this novel. Every character is well developed and intriguing. Even the minor characters are worth getting to know.

This book is filled with good ol' wild west action.
