"Sure has been a party Woodrow"

This is the most wonderful book I have ever read. I love the age of the cowboys and the cattle drives! Since I was born almost 150 years too late, if I want go there I just pick up my worn out paperback of Lonesome Dove and I'm back there. I have read this book about 5 times and everytime is just like the first. The only problem is when I start I can't put it down. I can feel the dust in my face and smell the horses and I'm riding along with them across the plains.
You can truly get lost in this book. It is a great way to forget the troubles we have and try to drive a herd of skinny Mexican cattle and a bunch of crazy horses to Montana from Texas with only a few experienced cowboys. There are a lot of laughs and a lot of tears along the way.
I think anyone with a love for the old west would enjoy this book. After many reads it still hasn't lost it's bloom.
