The Quickcam Messenger has worked well for us for 2+ years!

by   ivplay , top reviewer in Computer Hardware at Epinions.com ,  Jan 3, 2005
Pros: Small size, 6' cable and good quality
Cons: Don't set it near your speakers...
The Bottom Line: The bottom line has been spotted on the web via the Quickcam Messenger...
Review: Well over two years ago my wife and I upgraded to a broadband connection. This along with Instant Messaging applications finally made it realistic for us to buy a webcam and chat with grandparents, friends and family via video connections. At the time ...

Works great with XP & AIM or Yahoo!

by   toonscribe ,  Jul 25, 2004
Pros: The Camera works fine, and you can get a great deal on it.
Cons: iChatters need cameras to talk to you. May need to punch holes in firewall.
The Bottom Line: A cheap camera that works without problems on a modern computer. The other reviews are outdated, and this cam should give you no problems.
Review: There are quite a few negative reviews of this camera that I could not relate to, so I thought I should post my opinion to give balance to the overall ePinion. I got this camera on sale at Office Depot for $20 as a part of the Access Trio LE (which ...

by   tricky11 ,  Aug 10, 2004
Pros: price vid quality headset & holding clip easy installation compatible with many chat apps
Cons: poor holding base low mic volume on headset cables to short
The Bottom Line: buy this cam it's a great deal for your money
Review: I was going to buy a higher end cam but the one I wanted was out of stock so I decided to settle for this one. It was only like $30 so I figured I would give it a shot. As a bonus it came bundled with a headset and clip for a laptop or flat screen ...

QuickCam Messenger - Hardware: A, Software:D-

by   pinky_13 ,  Nov 2, 2003
Pros: Great picture quality, framerate, sharpness, contrast, color and very good low-light tolerance
Cons: Included software is terrible, default camera settings awful, harsh glare from close lighting
The Bottom Line: Hardware is great, software sucks. Adjusting the settings and downloading the latest drivers is a must. Not good for snapshots, although I am pretty critical :)
Review: I bought it at OfficeMax for $40. I ran it on a 1.3GHz HP Pavilion 531W Celeron with 384MB ram, integrated video running Win98SE and a 56K dialup connection. (Pitiful, I know, but that's all that's available). The camera itself is rugged, the focus ...

Great camera for the price!

by   camfancanada ,  Nov 3, 2004
Pros: Cheap. Easy to connect. Supplied software ignored in favor of downloading from the Logitech site.
Cons: Lousy tri-footed mount which is hard to adjust.
Review: Just installed the Quick Cam Messenger using the current, downloaded software @........ http://www.logitech.com/index. cfm/downloads/software/US/EN,C RID=1794,contentid=6361 It works great. No color distortion, reasonably easy to focus. The supplied ...

Not Vista Compatible

by   thorinsmom ,  Jan 21, 2008
Pros: Good little inexpensive webcam with audio.
Cons: Does not work in Vista.
Review: This product does not work in Windows Vista and Logitech is not offering a Vista Driver for it. Beware if it is your intention to use it with Vista. On the other hand, it works incredibly well with 2000 and XP. This is a great product, like all ...

Logitech fails again.

by   mae_lyn ,  Jun 3, 2004
Pros: Good hardware, good FPM rate, decent sound with the built in microphone.
Cons: Software doesn't work well at all, camera needs specific light conditions to be optimized.
The Bottom Line: Logitech should focus more on their software. They did well with the hardware of this item. I would suggest it to experienced webcam users, but not to a newer user.
Review: I recently bought the double pack of this camera. I bought it due to the variety of features it has, such as: built in microphone, compatibility with all instant messenger programs, and frame per minute rate (up to 30fpm), and an easy to use still frame ...

Talk The Talk

by   me4net ,  Dec 8, 2004
Pros: Price
Cons: Bad Quality Pictures
The Bottom Line: The price of this product is one of the best on the market and would recommend it if you want to lern how to use a webcam.
Review: Logitech Logitech is a company devoted to making Interface devices that makes things easer and more efficient for the user. They make some of the best quality and most reliable products on the market. But does the Logitech quickcam walk the walk. ...

Ok webcam, but thats about it.

by   PUFF/1 ,  Mar 15, 2005
Pros: Has a button on top that auto-captures.
Cons: Average to low quality pics.
The Bottom Line: Compare to others before you get this, there are better out there, but this one works.
Review: Well the Logitech QuickCam. What is there to say? The interface is nice, gives you Msn (also works with Yahoo). Basically the quality could be a little better, unless you have natural light in the room, it will look funny. The driver settings ...
