Not as expected

What attracted me to this remote was the fact that I could get rid of the four remotes and with a few presses on this harmony remote customize my setup (we have a plasma hdtv with a number of video inputs, av receiver, dvd, xbox 360 and Dishnetwork HD receiver).

Installation was not that painful. The remote is configured through your computer so you don't have to enter various codes because you specifically enter the model number of your equipment. The equipment that I owned was listed so there was no problem there. All you have to do is attach the remote to the computer via the USB cable and the software guides you through the process. I have not noticed any features of the individual remotes that was not on the Harmony remote.

When the remote works its great. I press the activities button then another button (play xbox, play dvd or play tv) and everything turns on, the tv input changes to the correct input, av sound input is changed and the other devices are turned off. However, I have noticed that the certain devices don't always recognize the signals from the remote which throw the remote off. The remote allows you to correct this situation with prompts.

A design problem of the remote is that the channel and volume buttons are really small and awkward to press. I would think that these buttons should be larger since most people will use these the most frequently.

Another annoying feature of the remote is that there is a buffer so if you press the channel button several times because of the delayed response or hold it too long, it keeps changing the channel a few seconds after you release the button and you have to wait until it stops changing the channel.
