I have gone through many a remote trying to find one that does everything and I have now found it. This thing even controls my Air Conditioner as well as a pedestal fan. Setup is easy, it is done on your computer and connects to the internet to program. Instead of the standard codes, you tell the software the brand and model of the component, it brings you through a wizard to setup the component. When all of your components are added, you create activities.
In my case, I have a HD TV, a Digital Cable box, and a surround sound / DVD combo. I hit activities and the screen on the top of the remote has 4 options, one being watch tv, I hit that and the tv, cable box and Sound system turn on, all to the appropriate channels and settings. If I want to watch a dvd, I hit activity again, hit watch DVD and the tv changes to the right source, the AV system automatically changes to DVD. I jsut bought a new TV, all I had to do was remove the old tv from the setup, put the new model into the softare, sync the remote via USB and it was up and running in 5 min.
