Precise el'cheapo gamepad from Logitech
Date of Review: Jun 1, 2002
The Bottom Line: For simple emulator games, this gamepad does the trick without ruining your wallet.
After playing some emulator console games, I quickly realized that my keyboard didn't have what it takes, so I decided to buy me a gamepad. Since I didn't want to spend my whole budget, I chose the Logitech Wingman Precision USB gamepad.
It's a rather simple gamepad, with directional pad, four buttons on your right and two bigger buttons in front, just like the default Playstation controller without start/select.
Installation is a breeze, since it's USB and with just default buttons, it didn't need any special software. You just plug it in, and WinXP detects and configures it automatically, it doesn't get any more Plug and Play than this.
It fit my rather large hands perfectly, and I didn't have any problems reaching all buttons instantly. It felt good when I put it through Super Mario World, no problems what so ever. My girlfriend complained about missing on the directional pad though. (Small hands :P)
Transparent black fancy colours with blue buttons, kinda bulky, but still looks great, who cares about gamepad looks anyway? :)
In more advanced games you might miss some buttons, advanced joysticks, vibrators etc, but for those simple emulator games, it's more than enough without costing a fortune.
The cord could in my opinion be a bit longer, if you want to play from the bed, couch etc, but in front of the pc, it works just fine.
It's size could be a problem for kids with small hands, so I recommend it for large-handed emulator gamers :)
