Author's Review

Please don't read this book where silence is required because you will find yourself laughing out loud. You will be laughing at the witty and comical way she uses life's experiences as examples of getting her point across.

When I went to the bookstore to buy this book,I found it in the inspirational section. I knew from the very first look at cover of this book that I was going to enjoy reading it. There is a cartoon picture of a woman hanging from a rope, with the sky and clouds in the background.

Barbara Johnson uses biblical scriptures to aid in the point she is trying to make. Her style of writing is similar to Erma Bombeck.

On the front cover of the book it says "For Women Only". She explains why she doesn't want men to read this on page 13. She pokes fun at men in an educational way,not with "putdowns or back stabbing". I think most men would get at least one laugh out of her humor".

There are so many things to learn than what the title indicates. She discusses, aging, physical changes, emotional ups and downs, weight gain, aches and pains, relationships with the men in our lives, grandkids, and so much more.

At the end of each chapter, she lists short verses called "Wrinkle Busters". Here are a few of my favorites :

"Fill your life with experiences, not excuses".

"I like to think of banana cream pie as a fruit".

"People who need to get older are much luckier than people who need to get younger".

"Age is mostly a matter of mind. If you don't mind it doesn't matter".

Chapter 6 is my favorite. It is about being a grandmother. The title of this chapter is " Grandmothers are Antique Little Girls ( Grand kids are God's reward for having survived parenthood )". I have said this many times myself.

Treat yourself to a laugh or two and a good time, read this wonderful book. Reading this book will make life's journey a little easier,I think we could all use that.I must confess I couldn't put this book down and I read it in one day, that has never happened to me before.
