This book is full of the author’s zany humorous takes on aging. The front cover does say "For women only". The back cover has this warning in very small hard to read print: "If you can read these words without a magnifying glass, you have no business reading this book! You're obviously much too young and probably wouldn't understand the humor anyway. Go buy a comic book and come back in thirty years". Of course you can dare to break these rules.

The fuel for some of her comedy comes from her having survived personal tragedies and wanting to give other people a lift. Her high spirits will get you giggling, and she flavors her outlook with Bible quotes. Even the chapter headings are funny : Growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional. Wild in the spirit - twinges in the hinges. Grandmothers are antique little girls.

On gaining weight as she ages she writes: You have a heart of gold. That explains why you weigh 200 pounds.
If you enjoy laughing at yourself aging, consider buying this book and having some fun reading.

I have good news if you enjoy her writing. She has written quite a few of these light hearted looks at hard times and how to manage to be joyful again. I just purchased her "So Stick A Geranium in Your Hat and Be Happy", which goes further along her path of getting people to pick themselves up and laugh.
