Direct To Disc Labeling CD Spindle
Date of Review: Aug 25, 2008
The Bottom Line: Hewlett Packard Lightscribe (LCDR00041M), 52x CD-R Spindle is the perfect CD for me.
I write songs and create music. I feel at peace when I am able to take one of my written works and sing it onto tracks. I have to admit that I am not the best mixer yet, but for what it is worth, I am happy just to be able to do my little studio work and complete songs.
When I was young and not really understanding the values of life, I used to doubt and not really understand why God even put me on this earth. And then I discovered, he must have really loved me to have anointed me with so many different abilities. It is in these days that I have learned my purpose in life really is to sing and write music and even though there may be those who look at my art and think that it is passe, I am learning that continuing to smile and do the purpose that God created me to do is the weapon that will keep me motivated. It isn't about how many times I fell but how many times God was my footstool and he helped me to bounce back to try again.
I have always had that promoting side to me. I like the art of creative design and often make fliers, cards and other things. It's not that I am trying to be showy, but how else will people know that I have a song to sing if I don't tell them?
I am always creating compact discs of my music and using them for that purpose. I like them to have a fresh and clean look. I have tried using the Memorex matte CD labels but found that the CD label is so thick that the CD will get stuck in some CD players, especially the car ones. Memorex High Gloss CD Labels leave a nice shiny touch to my work; especially if I decide to print color pictures on them. Plus they are a little thinner than the matte ones. Just when I thought it couldn't get any better than the high gloss CD labels, I found an even better way of creating my CDs with a nice professional look.
Hewlett Packard Lightscribe (LCDR00041M), 52x CD-R Spindle is the best CDs I have used so far. The only bad thing about this CD is that to be able to use it to the fullest capactity, you need to have a LightScribe drive so that after you create and finalize your CD, you can turn it over and the drive will inscribe what you want onto your CD. These CDs, like many other CDs, are 80 minutes long and hold up to 700 MB of data. But it was made for direct to CD labeling so that your CD comes out with a neat and cool finish.
The CD has like a gold surfaced color to it. The Lightscribe drive prints the details you would add to your disc label in black. It comes in spindles of 25 or 50. The images come out sharp and clear, but it will not print on it in color.
What I do not like about these CDs is that they can be costly. There are times that I can go to Staples and get a 100 Pack spindle of CDs for about $12.00 but I never see a 25 pack of Hewlett Packard Lightscribe (LCDR00041M), 52x CD-R Spindle for any less than $14.00. But on the upside, you simply have to buy the disc and no label because you would simply turn the disc over and print your label directly onto your disc from the ink in you printer without any extra paper needed. I love this concept and it has made a total change in the life of my little office in the dream that I treasure.
You can print onto this disc music or data and give it the most professional look you would like it to have. Each spindle comes with a limited lifetime warranty which I also like because if the CD is not a good one, Hewlett Packard says that they will replace it for you at their cost. If you are constantly making CDs and you are interested in changing the way you present your stuff, maybe you should consider getting a lightscribe drive. Without the drive, these CDs are just regular CDs. But with it, these CDs are the next best thing. Hewlett Packard Lightscribe (LCDR00041M), 52x CD-R Spindle is the perfect CD for me.
