by  opinionated3, lead in Computer Hardware ,  Jul 28, 2005
Pros: Easy Installation, well secured wireless connection
Cons: None so far
The Bottom Line: I would definitely recommend this router to everyone, because it was very easy to setup.
Review: I just recently bought my wife a laptop for our 20th anniversary so she could sit on the coach and relax while she is online. That immediately presented a problem with how she was going to connect to the Internet. The laptop had a built in 56K modem so ...

Epinions Wireless is the way to go

by  vchand,  Jun 2, 2005
Pros: Fast, Not Too Expensive, Easy Connections
Cons: Setup program is kind of confusing...
The Bottom Line: Strong Router, Worth Every Penny
Review: My initial impressions were very good. It's a neat, good-looking product and initial setup was ok - I had two PCs sharing a cable modem in about ten minutes. It's also very good value, particularly as it's quite feature-rich, offering a DHCP server and ...

Epinions Cheap and easy

by  JayAckroyd,  Sep 9, 2003
Pros: No more cables. No more worms.
Cons: Very small security risks.
The Bottom Line: If you're currently naked to the net, you need to get a firewall of some kind in place. This device does the trick, and provides wireless convenience to boot.
Review: This is a fine wireless SOHO solution. I'm using it between my DSL four port router and my internal NYC apartment network. For a cable modem, you'd do just what I did--connect the router to your cable modem using standard netwok cable. Set-up was qui ...

Epinions Great Price for A Great Product, Can't beat the Firewall

by  mattlegres,  Feb 1, 2005
Pros: Firewall is perfect, Great Price, Decent Wireless range
Cons: The power plug is a little big
The Bottom Line: It has all the features you need in a cool looking case, and it cost the same as all the other router. Can't Beat the Firewall
Review: An Important Note is there are many versions of this router as well as firmware. Currently they are on hardware version 2.2 and firmware 3.0. I have version 2.2 It would be a good idea only to read reviews for the current version because some of the ...

Epinions A good basic 802.11g wireless SOHO router / AP.

by  pilchard,  May 15, 2004
Pros: Inexpensive, comprehensive, open sourced router, part of a legacy of innovative products.
Cons: It lacks content filtering and robust firewall, but there is alternative open source software available.
The Bottom Line: For most families &SOHO's buying this router should be easy. It's got a long lineage, Linksys is part of Cisco now, Cisco at low cost! It doesn't get better!
Review: Linksys has a history of offering great value in small home and home office networking devices. The WRT54G continues and in many ways improves upon this legacy. This is even more noteworthy as Linksys was purchased by Cisco as this product was rolling ...

Epinions Perfect for home network and office use.

by  sidraw1,  Dec 6, 2003
Pros: Router/Switch/Access Point (and pseudo firewall) all in one. Easy set up. Good security...if applied.
Cons: Ships in a rather 'open' condition regarding security. Softcopy manual.
The Bottom Line: Great for home or small office network. Definitely recommended for ease of setup and use and performance. Just be sure to pay attention to the security sections.
Review: The Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router does just what it's expected to. I was able to set mine up in minutes and add security in a few more. The unit boasts a rather small footprint but serves as a router, a switch for wired devices, and an access ...
