LinkSys' KVM2KIT switch is great for home and small office users.

Recently I got a used computer from a family member who upgraded. I planned on using it as a server, but really didn't have the desk space for another computer. So, I decided that I'd get a KVM switch so I'd only need desk space for one monitor. At the time, I only used the higher end, more expensive KVMs, but I knew that I would have to get something cheaper since they cost more than monitors do.

After doing some research, I found 2 KVMs that were in my price range. LinkSys' KVM2KIT 2-port switch and IO Gear's MiniView Micro KVM. They both had the same specs, the main difference was that the IO Gear switch was $10 more. So, I went with the LinkSys.

I am happy to report it has been working trouble free for about 3 months now. I'd say it was an awesome deal for $35. Now for the details...

- Supports up to 32-bit color at 1920x1440 resolution.
- Built-in autoscan mode.
- Manually switch between computers by pressing scroll lock
twice.
- Keyboard and mouse are hot-pluggable.
- Switch remembers Caps, Number, and Scroll Lock settings
for each PC.
