A Revolution in Telecommunications

I have been using the Linksys CIT-200 for about two weeks now and there is one word for it - WONDERFUL !

Of course the Skype service is a great way to communicate with friends and family all over the world for FREE and now with this device I am finally free from sitting in front of the computer and staring at the screen while I talk.

The unit is VERY convenient. Just charge the handset over night, load the software drivers, and plug in the tiny receiver to any free USB port on your PC.

The sound quality is excellent with clear, crisp, loud sounding calls to both other Skype users and to regular landlines using Skypeout. As a matter of fact the sound quality is downright amazing. VoIP has definitely came a long way in the last couple of years !

The screen is color, the handset is comfortable to hold ( not too small or too big ), and the manual is quite extensive in explaining all the features.

The user interface works, although it could probably use some refinements to make it easier to use and navigate. It works pretty well and we must remember that this is the first cut at this device. The small screen size of a telephone also presents quite a challenge in designing a user interface as it does limit what you can do compared to on your PC or a PDA. Overall, it does work quite well as I was able to figure it out and do what I needed to do.

The range of the phone was excellent and I was able to roam anywhere in my house and around the yard ( average size subdivision lot ) with excellent sound quality.
