Pros: Super stable, third-party firmware, GPL source code, easy to configure
Cons: HTML configuration requires InterNet Explorer
The Bottom Line: The WRT54GL is one of those rare gems that power users would choose, casting aside far newer products that fall short in terms of stability and versatility.
Review: Covered in this review: product history, installation, features, security, comparison and review of third-party firmware, etc. [History of the axe] The WRT54GL is the re-release of LinkSys' older WRT54G router. The WRT54G was originally released ...

Pros: Easy to set up, reliable, versatile, and affordable.
Cons: None
The Bottom Line: An affordable solution for home and small office networking.
Review: I finally convinced my parents to join the digital age, so upon building computers for them I had to start looking for a network card in order to share the DSL connection. After much researching along with the advice of some friends, I purchased the ...

Pros: Works great with Linux and Mac. Stable and reliable. Strong signal. DD-WRT/OpenWRT compatible.
Cons: Not 802.11n. Hard to configure DHCP in default firmware to allow static addresses.
Review: This Linux based router is one of the best routers on the market. It has a very strong signal (we can pick it up all over our large house) and can be upgraded using either the DD-WRT or OpenWRT firmware. I'm not too enamoured of the default web ...

Pros: simple to use, simple install, has encryption, cheap
Cons: not FASTest out there but it does work efficiently
The Bottom Line: Buy it for simple networking.
Review: The Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router WRT54G was purchased around six months ago by myself. Being a techie and not really caring about connection speed for my wireless enabled laptop, I purchased this product based upon brand name awareness. Cisco owns ...

Pros: Excellent signal output when it works right
Cons: It has to be reset and reconfigured CONSTANTLY
The Bottom Line: If you can find a better router, buy it. I wish I had, and when I can afford to, I will.
Review: When I bought my new Acer laptop computer a few months ago, I decided I had better get a wireless router, otherwise the advantages of the laptop would be pretty well useless. Why buy something you can carry around the house if you have to be tethered to ...

Pros: Signal strength good throughout my house, PC&Mac compatible, handles my work VPN fine
Cons: Flaky! Connectivity goes up and down all the time.
The Bottom Line: Everything *would* be great but it konks out all the time, killing my connectivity. I get sick of having to walk over and reset it all the time. Bad reliability!
Review: Up again, down again, up again This router has been flaky, flaky, flaky since the day I bought it. I use it with a pair of Linksys wireless-G cards, inside a 2 bedroom apartment, and while signal strength is usually "good" or better, I am ...

Pros: When it works the signal is good
Cons: Have to reset it several times a day
Review: This router drops connection every two hours or so, and I have to manually reset it by unplugging the power cord. I thought that it was my fault and I set something up incorrectly, but today I saw several reviews on Amazon with the same problem for this ...
