Author's Review

As with other reviews concerning this product, I am too a fan of the Linksys products. However this unit does not work properly.

First of all, let me tell you the setup. I'm running the WRT54GS Linksys router with speedbooster, v3.37.6 firmware. WEP enabled, 128bit key with MAC Filtering.

The quick start cd based config software is worthless. After logging into web based configuration menu I was able to apply different settings to get it to work. This of course was after an hours worth of time talking to India (Tech Support), and three hours of me and a buddy trying everything we could.

India directed me to remove WEP and MAC filtering from my router in order for the gaming adapter to function properly. Now this is foolish, why buy a piece of equipment that is advertised to be secure only to disable security and leave your home network open to the world.

Save your money and look elsewhere; or as the other reviews have said purchase another WRT54g and set it up as a client.

As for me, it's going back tomorrow!
