It's not pretty but it worked

The WUSB 300N has the aesthetics of a mutt.  You either love it or hate it.

Either way it worked well with an XP machine for years.  The external cable and adjustable antennae mean you can adjust for maximum signal strength at your location.  The WUSB 300N looks somewhat surreal with the antennae out, but that gets back to the mutt thing I was talking about.

I remained connected at speeds between 243 and 270 with ease.  Our other laptops were connected at 81-108 with lots of steel and concrete in the way.

I tried replacing it with a Linksys Express card adapter which looked nicer but did not cut it. 

I also had good results with the Linksys provided software, which allows you to see who else is around and on what channel.  As the fast speeds work best with a wide channel this is helpful in congested areas.

I had great results with the WUSB 300N. 

It was removed from service when a new laptop replaced the XP machine.
