Pros: Up and running in 5 minutes or less
Cons: Some router settings are complex. Could use wall or undermount to hide the unit.
The Bottom Line: Best 8 port hard wired router on the market for the money.
Review: I'm a home networking freak and had my new house wired with category 5 Ethernet cable in every room of the house. I even made the connectors and hooked everything u0p my self. When broadband showed up to my house, I was ecstatic. I went out and spent...

Pros: Easy Set-up, great reliability, I got mine cheap on Ebay
Cons: Expensive if you buy retail
The Bottom Line: Reliable Brand, Great Product, Worth Every Penny.
Review: I've had this Cable/DSL router for about a year now. In case you are new to the world of broadband internet routing, a router is a device that allows multiple computers to share a single internet connection, such as Cable Modem Access (broadband through ...

Pros: Easy to set up
Cons: None
The Bottom Line: Good product for easy home networking
Review: This router only took a few minutes to install and configure. I was pleasantly surprised. The in-tool network manager took only a few seconds to figure out, and then it was ready to go.

Pros: Easy to setup up, quiet, fast access
Cons: Unreliable. Requires a receipt to replace it, even when under warranty
The Bottom Line: This router will do exactly what you need at a good price. Reliability and quality is questionable though.
Review: The Linksys BEFSRR81 Cable/DSL Router is a great idea. Basically, when you have a cable modem or DSL connection...you can only have 1 IP address. This means only one computer can be connected to the Internet at one time.

Pros: Cheap. Easy setup.
Cons: Poor network performance.
Review: I previously used the 4 port Linksys dsl router with great results; after many years constant use, the power supply started to buzz and got too hot (melted it's housing), so I decided to upgrade to the 8 port version. Initially it hooked up easily and ...

Pros: Nice look, easy to configure, quick support, 8-port switch
Cons: VERY SLOW throughput
Review: I recently purchased a Linksys to replace a dead router in my home. I immediately noticed a huge drop in throughput to the Internet. My download speeds are less than 20-135 Kbps compared to a direct connection to my cable modem (which is well over 1000 ...

Pros: 8 ports
Cons: Unreliable. Voice doesn't work
The Bottom Line: Don't buy this if you want to use MSN voice. Also, it needs rebooting all the time. That is Linksys' answer to 99.9% of problems.
Review: I've attached the whole body of my chat with Linksys. I admit, I was being a bit harsh on the guy, but I'm so frustrated that every time I phone, I get some BS, scripted answer. This router is OK for basic use, but forget about it if you want to use ...
