Author's Review
I purchased this printer a few months ago for about $25 just as a small, simple, lightweight one to take out to California for a few months for basic printing. It turns out it does a lot more thank low-quality, basic printing.
As a photographer, I tend not to print out too many pictures as it can get rather expensive and it's too much time wasted on the computer to get the picture just right to match up with the printer output. On a whim, I decided to print out a few 4x6 prints using the Lexmark printer and I could believe it - they looked as if I had taken them to a professional shop, not Walmart. I also did a few 8x10's on it that also came out very nicely.
It prints rather quickly and, at least for 4x6 pictures, very professionally. Don't misunderstand, this is a basic printer, it does not have all the bells and whistles of multi-function ones but for the price and basic printing needs it is worth getting.
This printer is great for students, dorm rooms, small studio apartments, and so on. It doesn't take up much space, is easy to store and attaches nicely to laptops and can be carried from room to room without breaking your back.
The ink, however, tends to cost just as much as the printer.
