Author's Review
This album quickly became my new favorite. All the tracks are superb and have great clever lyrics. CD comes enhanced with the 'complicated' video, bio and lyrics on it. And all the lyrics come in the booklet along with great pictures of Avril and her band. The tracks are:
Losing Grip- Starts off soft and slow then speeds up at the chorus to a more guitar driven faster pace and the back down.
Complicated- The first single of the album. The song that made me buy the album in the first place. Seems to be about two faced people.
Sk8er Boi- About a popular girl that turns down a punk sk8er boi who years later becomes famous. Not sure but may actually be about her boyfriend. As the lyrics go 'sorry girl but you missed out, well tough luck that boys mine now.' One of the faster cuter songs on the album.
I'm with you- One of the couple slow songs on the album with sweet lyrics.
Mobile- 'Went back home again, this sucks gotta pack up and leave again, say goodbye to all my friends, can't say when i'll be there again.' Is the beggining of the song which i think basically sums up the song.
Unwanted- Starts off really slow and the gets really fast and guitar driven at the chorus. About being unwanted by someone.
Tomorrow-My favorite of the slow tracks. Simple all around. Simple lyrics and simple slow beat. 'I don't know how i'll feel. Tomorrow. Tomorrow. I don't know what to say. Tomorrow. Tomorrow is a diffrent day.'
Anything But Ordinary-My absolute favorite song. I love the lyrics and i love the beat. 'Sometimes i get so weird i even freak myself out, i laugh myself to sleep, its my lullaby'. It has a much simpler sound to it then the other tracks.
Things i'll never say-Probably the sweetest of all the tracks. About wanting to say things but not being able to. (Or at least thats what i think its about!)
My World- About her home town, 5,000 population town. Nepanee (Ontario i think). And about growing up there.
Nobody's fool-'Ifyour trying to turn me into someone else, its easy to see i'm not down with that. I'm nobody's fool.' Once again i think that basically sums up the song. Probably my least favorite on the album though.
Too much to ask- Somewhere in between fast and slow, i'm not sure what to call it. Seems to be about someone whos to self absorbed and selfish to care about anyone else.
Naked- The slowest song on the album. About opening up to someone but being unsure about it and everything else.
