She's Anything but Ordinary
Pros:
Catchy songs and lyrics; no real dud on the whole album.
Cons:
Some of the tracks that have played on the radio get old after a while.
The Bottom Line:
"Let Go" is an amazing debut. It will no doubt go down in the same history as "Jagged Little Pill", and we'll no doubt be hearing more from her.

Author's Review
Either you like her or you hate her, but either way you can deny that Avril Lavigne has got some talent. Last year, I heard the song "Complicated" on the radio. I thought it was okay, but they overplayed it on the radio. But one day, the song really grew on me, so I bought the CD. I'm so glad I did, because "Let Go" is possibly the best CD I own.
The reason I say this is because I can listen to the whole CD all the way through, without skipping any songs. The last time I encountered this was with Alanis Morissette's "Jagged Little Pill". This is not to say that all of the songs on "Let Go" are spectacular, but they are all certainly worth listening to.
"Losing Grip" is the latest radio release, and it's one of only two harder rock songs on the whole album. It's a great song, but it took me a few listenings before it really became a favorite.
"Complicated", though every pop radio station in the country has played it a billion times, is still an excellent song that deserved its run at number one on the charts.
"Sk8er Boi" is probably my least-favorite song on the whole album. I like it, but it got tiring after a while. This is the song people are calling "pop punk", but it's definitely more pop than anything else.
"I'm With You" is a sweet song, one of the album's four ballads. It's not the best one, in my opinion, but it's still great.
"Mobile" is a good song that is more like "Complicated". It definitely sounds like a track that they would play on the radio, along with her others.
"Unwanted" is the other harder rock song on the album. While not quite as powerful as "Losing Grip", it's still a great song that conveys some of her anger, and has her sounding a little more like Alanis Morissette.
"Tomorrow" is one of my favorite songs on the album. I'm not sure why. It's just a nice, slow song and she sings in beautifully.
"Anything But Ordinary" is pretty good. It has more of an accoustic sound than the rest of the songs.
"Things I'll Never Say" is a good song, and I like what it says. She talks about the things she would say if she could work up the nerve to say them. Who can't relate to that?
"My World" is a fun song, and it's great to sing along with. And it's the closest she ever comes to swearing ("...though it may take all FRIGGEN day...")
"Nobody's Fool" is another one of my favorites, though a lot of people feel differently about it. It's different from the others in the way she sings it. Some say she raps, but it's more of a talking rap. Either way, I think it's a great song.
"Too Much to Ask" and "Naked" are the last two tracks on the album, and they're both ballads. While I never used to listen to them that much, I have found myself listening to them more lately. They're both good, and again the ballads really show what a great voice she has.
I have read so many reviews on this CD on this site and other sites, and most people who give it one star are usually reviewing Avril herself, or her clothes, her attitude, or even how she sings live (we all know she doesn't sing all that well live). If you just take "Let Go" and really listen to it, you'll see the finished project is amazing. Yeah, maybe she doesn't sound as good in concert, but whatever they did to her voice in the studio was miraculous, because her voice on "Let Go" is amazing, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
If you don't have this CD yet, I highly suggest you get it. There's not one song on the whole CD that isn't worth the price of the CD alone. It should be in every pop-lover's collection.
