The Bottom Line: one of Jet Li's best movies
The movie begins as Jet Li's character finds his home in ruins and family members all dead except his baby son. Li decides to test his son's fate by give the boy a toy and a weapon. If his son choose the toy, then he will kill his son and if he chooses the weapon than he will raise the boy to become a warrior. During the funeral, a member of his brotherhood came crashing begging for forgiveness for failing to protect his family. Suddenly, Li is attacked and realize that he has just been betrayed. Li finally defeats his old friend but not enough to kill him. Li's mission is to recover the lost map which is tattoo on the backs of little children and hide it from the gov't and meet up with rebels waiting to overthrow the gov't.
Li ended up working for a rich man who is about to be swindle by a mother-daughter gang. Li offer his service to protect the rich man from the con artist. As the movie progress, the mother-daughter cons joined up in the movement to stop the gov't as the daughter begins to show affection towards Li. The battle begins for control of china and Li later must confront the traitor he left for dead. Only this time, his old friend has become more powerful than before as he has mastered the ultimate fighting skill.
This movie is funny at times and very serious at other times. a good movie filled with fun, comedy, action, and love.
