Best value in laser printers

This printer is absolutely fantastic! I've been using it for about a year now without any problem. If you need a quick, cheap, high quality laser printer to do the basics, this is the printer for you!

You can refill the toner fairly easily (3rd party products) and they work just as well, so far I've refilled twice on each cartridge without issues. The printer also has an economy mode which I use for all of my documents, the print quality in economy mode is very good.

As far as laser printers go, this one is fairly quiet, and has an extremely fast startup time. From idle the printer start working in about 4 seconds, as opposed to about 15 seconds, which many of us are accustomed to.

If you are using windows with multiple user accounts and you try to manually double-side (duplex), the duplex button to print on the opposite side of the page shows up on the first account to login to the computer, even if that person is no longer logged in. Just remember to use the account first logged on for duplexing if you have multiple users. This has been a major annoyance for me as I duplex quite often and there are multiple users on the system.

This is not a networkable printer, even if you are using a print server--although I knew it was not network ready, I tried to use a USB print server unsuccessfully. To get around this, you can use windows printer networking, requiring that the computer that the printer is connected to must be on to print from another computer.

When using windows printer networking to print from a remote computer, duplex printing poses an even greater problem. The duplex dialog box also pops up on the account first logged into on the computer connected to the printer.
