Good Amp For The Money!

Well I bought this amp to power a pair of Lanzar MAXP124D subs (reviewed here as well). Total of 4 subs and 2 of these amps being used in a budget/entry level SPL car. I bought the amp because it was rated at 450 watts RMS at 2 ohms. This amp is NOT 1-ohm stable. However, I found that at 12 volts and 1/2 gain, this amp can produce 550 rms (or 33 volts out of each channel). Now this was at 12 volts with voltage dropping to 11.2 volts (car was off). I'm pretty sure that this amp can produce a bit more at closer to 14 volts and will be testing as soon as I get it installed completely. Word of caution though, this amp likes to draw alot of current and has NO subsonic filter (another reason I bought it). It will play down to 1hz, but most subs don't like this and can smoke voice coils fast. Nice looking amp with decent power for a sub-$200 amplifier. Power and ground inputs easily accept 4-gauge cables. The speaker outputs also easily accept 8-gauge speaker wire. All cables and wires are held to the amp via allen-style set screws to ensure a tight, firm connection. You can control the LPF, HPF, Bass Boost, Gain and even the Phase of the amp easily by the top mounted controls, which are under a protective cover and back lit with BRIGHT blue LEDs. The black chassis is big and the chrome end piece adds a nice touch. The top cover also is vented which not only allows the heat out, but some of the blue lights to show a few of the internal pieces. So far, I'm happy with the amp and would recommend to anyone looking for a good unit that wont break the bank.
