Pros: Low price, runs cheap, consistent heat, heat stays low to ground, long term heating solution
Cons: Extremely slow to initially heat a room. Terrible for short term or emergency heat.
The Bottom Line: I recommend this product based not only on price but more so on the efficiency and consistency of the heat. And is simply perfect for a basement. Great!
Review: If your looking for a low energy bill, oil filled is the way to go. If your looking for quick hot heat at about twice the cost for energy, get a ceramic heater. This unit is slow to heat. So slow, that after an hour it only made my 55% room go up 2%. ...

Pros: Maintains temperature. Easy to use. Safe.
Cons: Have not found any problems as of yet.
The Bottom Line: I'd recommend this to people who would like to heat a small area and maintain that heat.
Review: My boyfriend recently purchased the Lakewood (5500) Oil Filled Radiator Heater for our apartment due to the fact that I'm always cold. Our landlord's heat connects to ours, and if his isn't very high, ours isn't either. There were times when I ...

Pros: Stable, even heat, easy controls
Cons: thermostat dial feels a little cheap
The Bottom Line: I would buy this unit again because it has performed flawlessly for so long.
Review: I have had this heater for about three years now. It has been very reliable. Never given a lick of trouble during our ownership. We use this heater in our large master bathroom to augment the in floor heat that has to fight the 12' ceilings. I love ...

Pros: Easy setting seem relatively safe
Cons: slow to heat a room
The Bottom Line: I like oil filled heaters over other types because I feel they are safe and though they are slow to heat, do give better overall warmth to a room.
Review: My home is heated by an antiquated steam system that, no matter how I place and adjust my steam valves, rooms are continuously unevenly heated. Having one thermostat, near the front door that changes the air temperature each time it is opened and closed, ...

Satisfactory radiator. Much depends on the outside temperature.

Pros: Thermal cut-off, Thermostat, Heater shuts off if tipped over
Cons: Metal "fins" are hot to the touch, rolling wheels do not always roll easily
The Bottom Line: Satisfactory oil-filled radiator heater, but there are better ones on the market.
Review: Describe your experience using this product. The heating ability of the Lakewood electric radiator heater I bought seems to depend on the outdoor temperature. On very cold days (below 20 degrees), its ability to warm my bedroom is average at best. ...

Pros: Audible click when thermostat engages.
Cons: Switch quality, no easy way to see if its on.
The Bottom Line: Adequate, get if cheaper than the competition.
Otherwise, consider others.
Review: I bought mine in walmarts for about $35 several years ago. It worked fine. Then after about 2 years one of the switches on the front (which controls 900 watts) stopped working. I find all oil filled heaters (I have 4) close to the same in heat ...

Pros: Easy to assemble
Cons: Doesn't work well
Not good heat
Waste of time and money
Review: I bought this heater to use downstairs because I have a Lakewood heater upstairs. I thought the different name brand wouldn't make a difference. I was very wrong. This heater does not put out much heat and it constantly shuts itself off. I can't ...

Pros: it's nice to look at, great for warming your hands
Cons: doesn't heat a room at all, waste of money
Review: I bought this fancy heater at Wal-Mart for only $27 (a great deal compared to online prices upwards of $100). It's pretty and shiny, and I had great hopes for it. But, it's hot to the touch (this will burn your toddlers fingers, and set your drapes ...

Pros: Cheap, worked well WHEN it worked, heats the whole room.
Cons: Slow to heat up a room, non-existent customer service.
Review: I recently bought this heater at Walmart for about $35. I really liked it at first, because it was cheap, totally silent and it worked well. It also seemed safer than the coil type heaters. About a week after buying the thing it started making ...
