Pros: Perfect cast, great sound, beautiful scenery
Cons: None
Review: Two lovers, cursed by an jealous bishop so that neither may see each other in human form, but for a split second in the moments between day and night...
By day, Etienne Navarre is a man. By night, he is a wolf, unaware of his human half-life.... |

Pros: a sweet quaint tale of love and magic set it medieval times
Cons: the soundtrack is just terrible
The Bottom Line: To sum it up, I have to say that this is an excellent choice for a quiet evening at homne with your "love". Try it the next dreary weekend.
Review: The Plot
Michelle Pfieffer plays Isabeau. She is a woman of unrivaled beauty who captures the heart of the community of Aquilla. She is even the target of the love of the Bishop. However her heart already belongs to the... |

Ladyhawke is a galloping good fantasy adventure with silly music.

Pros: A well-produced fantasy adventure with an outstanding cast and lots of fun.
Cons: The music ranges from really stupid to mildly annoying to occasionally OK.
The Bottom Line: This is an excellent fantasy, with a strong cast and script, photographed on locations of great beauty. Great stuff -- lot of grody music, though.
Review: The title music of this film is so ridiculously out of touch with the mythic-mediaeval character of ...

Pros: Hauer, Broderick and Pfeiffer in that order, Photography and special effects
Cons: Strangely inappropriate music at times, and the Bishop
Review: This 1985 movie has long been one of my favorites. It features Rutger Hauer when he was still a hunk (if you don't believe this is possible take another look at BLADERUNNER) and before Matthew Broderick was consigned to the oblivion of mediocrity. It...

Pros: too many to mention
Cons: none
The Bottom Line: I love this movie and will give up going out for ice cream to watch it.
Review: I have to give the credit for this movie to Richard Donner, the director. The story is pretty ordinary. The acting is acceptable, but not extraordinary. The cinematography is beautiful, but I've seen better. Still, through his craftsmanship, these...

Fantasy at its best!

Pros: wonderful acting, staging, everything
Cons: modern 80s music *shudder*
Review: A classically haunting and beautiful fantasy movie--without the hackneyed stereotypes!
In this 1980s film [we know that by the cheesy, out of place modern music played throughout the whole thing] we have a classical tale of... |

Pros: something for everyone
Cons: nothing to speak of
Review: This film must be viewed widescreen, never in pan and scan, as it loses much of it's impact. If you ever have a chance to catch it on the big screen, go, you will not be disappointed.
This is a fantasy about two cursed lovers. He (Rutger Hauer)... |

Pros: Great acting
Cons: none
Review: Medieval tale of true love, jealousy, curses and evil men. The Knight is played perfectly by Rutger Hauer who is very sexy in this role. He is in love with Isabeau (Michelle Pfeiffer) but because of the jealousy of the Bishop, a curse is put on the...

Pros: Lovely story, great actors
Cons: Soundtrack
Review: This is one of my favorite movies, even though the stars rarely mention it when they are interviewed. It has a great cast - Rutger Hauer, Michelle Pfieffer, Matthew Broderick, Leo McKern - what more could you ask for?
The story is wonderful,... |

Pros: good adventure, sappy love story (I love sap), lots of action
Cons: I can't believe synthesizer music was so popular! Soundtrack
Review: I have to admit that LadyHawke is one of my all-time favorite movies. It was recommended to my mom years ago by a friend of hers shortly after it came out on video, so she rented it for my sisters and me. From the moment the opening music boomed from...
