Poor handle design

We bought this particular model to match other stainless trim items in our kitchen. The unit looks nice and the control layout is appealing. The handle design however includes plastic caps and moldings on the side where the handle attaches to the door and after only a few weeks these handles cracked and fell apart. I contacted LG and their response is that the handle is cosmetic and not covered in the warranty. The handle is not easily removed from the door either. The door hinge also appears to have extra play in it and it's already necessary to hold the door level in order to close it. All three of the models in this line have this handle design and I wouldn't recommend buying this model or any other model with this handle design on the door.
