Don't even think about it

The Bottom Line: The LG Steam Washer has surpassed all my expectations. No more dry cleaner, no more steaming... Years later and it's still makes doing laundry easy and fun!
This is the greatest laundry experience of my life. Very dramatic, I know, but I had never really liked doing laundry or any other kind of cleaning, and I truly enjoy it now. I have an entire workstation with folding table, drawers and magnets to hang things on the side of the machine.
Originally I was interested just because of the steamer option, and I discovered this alone was worth the price.
I'm able to wake up, decide what I want to wear and throw in into the steamer. On my way out the door I pull the clothes out and put them on. Yes, the clothes will come out slightly damp (barely for my clothing) so you may want to put them into the dryer under air dry or freshen up for a few minutes before you put them on. You can also steam the night before or an hour before and then hang to dry but that would make too much sense, so if you're anything like me, always on the go- last minute - procrastinator - although extremely productive, you will love this feature.
****Very important - When using this feature - steam fresh, you want to wipe down the inside rubber tubing and the glass door so that the moisture does not sit. I also leave the door open to let it air out. It takes a moment to do, and if you don't have the time, don't worry; you can always do a tub cleaning cycle which will clean out any build up.
Some other great features:
- Bulky loads. Although the label says, "dry cleaning," I wash my king size down comforter without a problem.
- Sanitation cycle. Good for those unusual messes. A household pet decides that they don't like it when you go away, and so they… you know... put the item(s) in the washer, granted this cycle does clean for about 2 hours, but you know your stuff is clean.
- I'm always using the hand wash cycle for all my clothes. Instead of bringing my work clothes to the dry cleaner, (that only sets the smells into the fabric even more and adds a shellac to boot), I wash them in this cycle and then hang them dry.
I think it's obvious I love this product and have nothing bad to say about it. If you're not happy with yours, then something is not right. If your spin cycle is noisy, it's not balanced properly...mines a whisper. If yours smells... you're not taking care of it properly.
So good luck on your laundry adventure... don't worry about the money, it's worth it and you'll be happy you did it.
**UPDATE**
As of February 7, 2009 I'm still loving my steamwasher. I've had no problems and if anything I keep learning new buttons and controls that make it perform even better. I wish I could say the same for my BMW...
