I have to say this is by far the best washing machine I have ever used. The fit and finish is really good. I have the white model.
The first thing you notice is how well it is packed in its box. The box has been designed so Styrofoam, wood, and cardboard all work together to keep the washer from injury when traveling to your door. The instructions are extremely clear and even the houses it comes with are better than anything I have seen at the local stores (home depot, lowes, ect.) The leveling of the machine is also very easy; it even comes with its own wrench. Don't forget to remove the four bolts in the back before using; they are there to lock everything in during shipping. The wrench also works with those. Once all set up the machine springs to life at the touch of its power button.
The machine has 9 different wash cycles that all can be customized. These range from the delicate cycle, to the sanitize cycle. The machine has a built in water heater to make sure the temp is just right. You can choose the spin speed, the soil level, and how and how loud the chime is when finished all within each of the 9 cycles. We usually use the normal cycle, which takes about 1 hour and 45 minutes. That is a little longer than most washers, but this one does such a great job we don't mind waiting. There is a quick wash cycle that takes 30 minutes, which is nice for light soiled clothing, but for regular, do the regular wash.
The machine itself has a stainless steel tub and "rollers" in each of its agitators. These rollers make sure the clothes do not get hung up and makes the clothes less likely to be damaged. The tub itself is huge at 4 cubic feet and easily accepts our queen sized down comforter (synthetic). The door is solid and well made. The LCD display even has little comments about what each button does if you are not sure.
For those of you concerned about the HE not using water, do not be. The clothes are not sloshing around in a foot of water, but very wet, and the machine keeps the water moving. There is a setting to add extra water during the rinse and wash cycles, but we have never needed it, just tried it out...did add more water.
The spin cycle is amazing, it can do 1320 rpm. This makes the clothes barely damp. To give you an idea, we washed out sheets the other night, after the highest setting spin, it only took 15 minutes in the dryer to be completely dry, and that was from a stone cold dryer to start with.
The advertised feature of this washer that most are concerned about is the steam. Yes it does steam, yes it does work, but the clothes are slightly damp when it's done. The steam cycle is about 20 minutes, or can be added to some of the other 8 cycles. You would not use this on clothes than have been worn all day to be cleaned, but use it to refresh clothes that may be a little wrinkled in a drawer, or to fix up a shirt that you may have worn for a couple of hours.
