Beware of Pressure Cracks
Pros:
Shiny phone with several cool features as long as your screen does not malfunction.
Cons:
Breaks super easy -only takes one pound of pressure to cause a pressure crack.
The Bottom Line:
Screen breaks too easy, which makes this a very expensive phone with no features.

My husband and I bought this phone about 2 months ago. Because the screen was on the outside, we also purchased a case with a cover to protect the screen. Last Saturday, he got out of his car and the phone looked and worked just fine. Once he got into his office and tried to call me a few minutes later, the inside of the screen looked like a cracked windshield. There were no physical cracks on the outside of the screen and no scratches or bumps marks anywhere on the phone. We tried to take the phone back to the ATT/Cingular center where we had purchased it and were advised that they don't handle claims, you have to call a 1-800 to process claims. So we did-- we had purchased insurance to cover the product, but since we had done nothing to cause the damage, we requested info to invoke the warranty. That department told us that the warranty was still good and it should cover. They gave us the option of mailing the phone in or driving to a service center an hour away. Through either option we would be provided a refurbished phone. We opted to drive to 10455 N. Central Expressway, Dallas, Texas. We showed them the phone and advised that we were there to get our replacement and notes should be in the computer. They would not look up anything in the computer, refused to do any paperwork, and handed the phone back to us because in their opinion it was a "pressure crack" which indicates obvious abuse, and thereby voids the warranty. So we got back in our car, called the 1-800 again. To make us feel better about our rejection, they explained that it only takes one pound of pressure to cause a crack on this particular phone. Examples of things they said could cause a crack included leaning against a wall or being bumped by a grocery cart. They further advised that it was good that we didn't mail the phone in since they would have determined, unilaterally, that it was abuse to lean against a wall and cause a one pound pressure crack, then I would have been billed $210 for the refurbished (i.e. used) phone they sent me per the warranty, with no appeal rights. So ... the bottom line on this phone is that they screen in incredibly flimsy if only one pound of pressure can cause a crack and void the warranty. My kids have a DS and PSP-- they've dropped and abused those things-- and have never experienced a pressure crack. If you do decide to buy this product, put it on the shelf-- because you could very easily apply one pound of pressure just by sliding the cover open. If you happen to purchase this product through ATT/Cingular, also don't expect any support. Just expect a "talk to the hand" attitude at their 10455 N. Central Expressway "service center."
