TOO LOUD

Bought this air conditioner in Best Buy because it was a good price, the salesman said it would suit our needs well and it looks like other LG models generally had good reviews. It is a disappointing purchase. The installation instructions are not the best. The instructions acknowledge the type of installation we have exists--a double hung window with a storm window that requires a specially cut board placed on the sill under the air conditioner--but does not explain what to do with the brackets that are supposed to hold the machine with this sort of installation. By far the worse thing is the noise. This machine is ridiculously LOUD. I am sitting in a room two doors down from my daughter's room where I installed it and I can hear it loud and clear every time it cycles on even with the doors closed. It cools the room fine, and she's a sound sleeper, so it's not worth taking it out of the window after all the trouble we went to installing it, but I would not recommend it.
