To Save You From Losing Your Laptop And The Dreams Of Your Life

by   Ed.Williamson ,  Jul 29, 2008
Pros: Security, convenience, cable length, combination lock, inexpensive, company reputation, and transferability.
Cons: None.
The Bottom Line: Get one and protect all your invaluable stuff.
Review: The modern laptop computer is slowly altering the fabric of our culture. With a laptop sporting wi-fi connectability, and a broadband internet stream going through a decent router, the laptop can be used anywhere in the house, and sometimes outdoors, to ...

Wireless sharing on Kodak EX1011

by   mclerk ,  Dec 27, 2007
Pros: Pics look good to me Excellent convenience of wireless sharing and copying to memory
Cons: Sharing from your PC directly needs it to be always on(!)
The Bottom Line: Pictures look good, it is stylish and wireless functionality works well if you ignore whatever Kodak say (see others comments)
Review: Every so often you see comments from a bunch of techno-biffs and you have to set the record straight... Right, first, go and download and install latest firmware from kodak, I have v2007.10.09. Next, I do agree with all the abuse about the ...

A lot of security in a simple design

by   amitobelieveu ,  Mar 11, 2008
Pros: Provides necessary and temporary security in less than secure locations.
Cons: Should be offered in other colors and with a smoother higher quality lock.
The Bottom Line: This is a good unit that I would buy again. The simplicity makes me believe it will last a long time.
Review: The convenience of a portable computer is apparent to many students and professionals. The library can be an obvious place to get a lot of research or schoolwork done, especially if you have your laptop with you. The biggest problem I find is when I ...

After 3 Frames - This Is The Best For Picture Quality

by   gman38 ,  Dec 30, 2007
Pros: Excellent Picture Quality and Feature Set
Cons: Pricey
The Bottom Line: Buy this frame or a cheaper SV series kodak digital frame if you don't need WiFi. Best Picture Quality and very good feature set.
Review: Digital Picture Frames seem to have been one of the top selling gifts for the Christmas of 2007. After purchasing the floor model from Staples in Canada for a Christmas gift (everyone else was sold out of every model) we noticed it had scratches on the ...

Could have been much better

by   dmwierz ,  Jul 26, 2007
Pros: Online EasyShare is neat. Large display
Cons: Photos need lotsa processing to look their best. Needs 3rd party s/w for Mac WiFi
The Bottom Line: If you're on Mac OS X, need WiFi, 800 pixels @ 10", are willing to do some work, this product is OK. Qualified "Yes" recommendation.
Review: I am a professional photographer, and was looking or something to put on my desk to show a continuous slideshow of my work. After holding off on buying a digital frame for years, I thought the EX1011 would be just what I was looking for. ...

Wireless Frame not ready for prime time

by   mikeg0625 ,  Jun 18, 2007
Pros: Looks nice, and the display is high quality.
Cons: Forget the wireless bit.
The Bottom Line: Wait until the wireless functionality is ready before investing in something that does not work.
Review: I also thought the concept of a wireless picture frame a great idea, since I have over 10,000 pictures on various hard drives and computers in my home - some Macs and some PCs. Why hassle with copying files to memory cards when you can use your network ? ...

Disappointed

by   pacoderm ,  Dec 26, 2007
Pros: Pretty good picture, set-up not that bad.
Cons: Frame freezes, and plays the same picture slide show over and over again.
The Bottom Line: Good picture quality, wireless feature is a disappointing let-down.
Review: I bought my EX1011 just before Christmas, and really haven't had the problems all the other reviewers have had. Apparently Kodak has read and responded to a lot of the bad reviews. My EX1011 came with 2 different manuals, one on using the frame in ...

Quite Disappointed

by   dihakz ,  Aug 9, 2007
Pros: Nice looking, has wi-fi (with severe limitations), speakers and video
Cons: Poor support, wi-fi limitations, screen brightness, aspect ratio
The Bottom Line: Not a mature product, and disappointing for a product by Kodak, and support is awful, too. Don't buy -- wait and see if it improves or go with another brand.
Review: This frame is one of the best I was able to find, when researching. The reasons consisting mostly of wi-fi, overall size of the screen and the cost being comparably affordable. However, after buying I've been very disappointed. First, the size of ...

Nearly unusable with 2Gbyte SD memory

by   katashark ,  Jun 14, 2008
Pros: Wide screen
Cons: Needs a separate cable to plug USB key in.
Review: When the Digital frame boots up, it takes about 5 minutes to start. This is because the software sort all pictures before it start. There is no chance to start with an explorer menu so that you can choose what folder play. Non firmware updates during ...

Great display, lousy software interface and customer support

by   cgoeke ,  Jun 24, 2007
Pros: Great display, multiple picture sources, wireless, auto power down and up feature.
Cons: Too much daily use of the remote. Customer support lousy, promised return calls never happened.
The Bottom Line: This could potentially be a great product, but wait until Kodak has the bugs worked out of the hardware and software...both in the frame and on the Kodak Gallery website
Review: I bought this frame for my parents, with the hope that they could have it on their wireless network and see photos that my siblings and I uploaded to the on-line Kodak Picture Galley. I wasn't interested in using a memory card or viewing pictures off my ...
