Author's Review

When we recently installed new granite countertops, we decided it was time to replace our kitchen appliances. Our over-the-range microwave was 10 years old and wouldn't last forever so the search began.

I did a lot of research both online and in the brick & mortar stores and decided to go with an LG. I had originally planned to go with a model that didn't have as many features but in the end decided the LMVM2075 in stainless steel was the right choice for our family.

I purchased at Home Depot during their 10% off sale (always a nice incentive!). I brought it home and my husband installed it himself. He said it was easier and more straightforward than he expected, having never done it before (he is quite handy so I never thought it would be too difficult for him *grin*).

My favorite feature is Sensor Cook. We didn't have this on our old microwave and always had to guess on cook times and watch everything very carefully to ensure it didn't over cook. Sometimes we were right... often times we were wrong and ended up with overcooked food or even undercooked items which is bad too.

The first night we had the microwave we used it to reheat the previous night's leftover casserole still in the original rectangular dish. Using Sensor Cook and choosing the "casserole" option, it came out perfectly! It wasn't overdone (no dried out, chewy parts)... it wasn't undercooked (no cold parts)... each bite was perfect!! We were so impressed that we decided to try a bag of microwave popcorn as our evening snack. Previously our old microwave had a SERIOUS problem cooking popcorn even though it had a turntable. I can't tell you how many bags we wasted in trying to get the timing just right - - - we either had a huge amount of unpopped kernels (wasteful - usually about 75-125 kernels unpopped) or far too much of it burned (and everyone knows how much a bag of burned popcorn can stink up a house!!). But not with this microwave. I took the plastic wrapper off the popcorn bag, placed it in the microwave, pushed the Popcorn key and voila! There were about 20 unpopped kernels and the rest was a perfect bag of microwave popcorn... the very first time :) The next day we microwaved baked potatoes... three at the same time... and they came out perfectly! No undercooked hard parts... no overcooked inedible parts... just fluffy delicious microwaved baked potatoes! The next day we reheated a slice of pizza and it was perfect... no hard, inedible crust... no cheese baked onto the plate... just a nicely reheated slice of pizza. And my son... well, he thinks this microwave makes the best non-grilled hotdogs ever :)

The sleek design was very appealing to us. I don't care for the look of microwaves that have the vent slots across the top of the front panel. The LG LMVM2075 doesn't have that... it's smooth and sleek across the front and we have it venting out thru a top vent inside the cabinets. The interior blue color is different... and pretty cool looking. It matches the interior of the LG Electric Range (I just wish the LG Gas Range had the blue interior as well).

Another feature I really like about this model is that it has Glide 'n Cook Plus. This couples a traditional turntable with the side-to-side Glide 'n Cook technology. The side-to-side is great when you're heating say a large rectangular casserole dish that can't be auto-rotated because of the interior dimensional limitations of a conventional home microwave. But the Glide 'n Cook moves that casserole dish side-to-side to ensure even cooking with no cold or hot spots. Glide 'n Cook Plus has the Glide 'n Cook feature AS WELL AS the traditional rotating turntable so your smaller items rotate to ensure even cooking with no cold or hot spots.

Overall, I am thrilled with this microwave and have no regrets. I would definitely recommend this to everyone!!
