Pros: QAM digital tuner, good picture quality, quality recordings in the 1 and 2 hour mode.
Cons: DVD player rattles, a bit junky, clock loses time, buy the extended warranty.
The Bottom Line: Good product compared to what is out there right now, but buy the extended warranty.

Review: I have been looking for a DVD recorder with clear QAM digital cable tuner for some time. My first choice was the Philips 3505 but no where on the box, at the Philips
website, or in the online user s manual does it mention clear Qam tuner, so I... |

Pros: NTSC/ATSC/QAM tuners, -/+/RAM/DL media support, cool looking, outputs, PIP, chase play.
Cons: No True HD output, only coax video in, no program guide, no cooling fan.
The Bottom Line: Had to try three units, but the third one works great. Biggest problem is no true HD output.

Review: Well it's only fair to do another update. After trying two other recorders - Philips DVDR3505, and Samsung DVD-AR650 - which are not on epinions yet, so I can't review them, I ended up getting a second LG. I did because a lot of people reported not...

Pros: Records over-the-air digital and analog TV, excellent video and sound quality.
Cons: Overpriced, questionable reliability, and has a design flaw with the way it stores subchannels.
The Bottom Line: Overpriced and a transitional product, but meets my needs and has excellent picture and audio on DVD playback.

Review: Starting March 2007, the FCC is requiring manufacturers to include an ATSC tuner (this is the new digital broadcast standard for TV) with any device with a TV tuner. The DR787T is the first DVD recorder that I am aware of with this capability, which...

Pros: Receives most, not all unscrambled HD channels on basic cable service or over-the-air antenna
Cons: QAM tuner misses some channels, HDMI doesn't work with some TVs.
The Bottom Line: Good but not the best DVD recorder available today

Review: After deciding that Cox Cable was ripping me off by charging approx $300 a year for HDTV service and a box that would only record 6 hours of TV shows, I started a search for a less expensive and possibly better alternative.

Pros: Easy to use, picture is sharp, and easy to control with excellent recording quality.
Cons: It only shows up-converted HD, and is not true HD.
The Bottom Line: It does not show true HD, but is good enough for a regular DVD recording.

Review: I purchased LG DR787T last week ($229.99 from Bestbuy) and hooked up with my Hitachi 50" 720p Plasma TV - 50HDT50 immediately. One often misunderstood that ATSC is equal to HD. It is actually not. An ATSC tuner is just capable of demodulating...

Pros: Good recorded image quality. Digital recording of analog and digital broadcasts.
Cons: Can't decode all digital channels. Timer clock loses time. Burned DVD's have limited compatibility.
The Bottom Line: If you don't need the exact features of this product, look for something else. Otherwise, wait for a firmware update or wait for better products in this niche.

Review: I bought this unit about the 4th of July. It is now mid-October. This was my first tuner capable of digital reception. It's now ten days past its 90-day labor warranty.
Here in Northern Colorado, there aren't many off-air digital stations... |

Cons: Only 480p. No up-convert from remote. No digital cables. Very, very short life!!!
The Bottom Line: Don't waste your money on this unit!!!

Review: UPDATE!!! (11/01/2008): At first glance, this was a very feature rich unit with built-in ATSC digital tuner, hidden touch pad that appears when touched, reads USB thumb drives, and up-converting to 1080i. The first cavet is the documentation would...

Pros: Looks Good, has a good zoom feature.Digital TV tuner was pretty nice too.
Cons: Just hope yours works well, because you can't rely on LG to help you out.
The Bottom Line: Mine may have just been a lemon, But if you have problems too, you are out of luck. LG is no help with warranty or service.

Pros: ATSC tuner, DVR user interface, DVD-Video recording.
Cons: Unfriendly front panel, ATSC tuner low sensitivity, unreliable.
The Bottom Line: Fine DVD recording features and d good on-screen user-interface marred by a terrible front-panel user-interface and sub-standard reliability.

Review: I bought this DVD player/recorder to replace a DVD player gone bust and to try to retire the VCR as a TV-recording device.

Cons: Up-converts from front panel operation only. Remote is user unfriendly.
