Bigger in size than advertised

I bought this dryer with the matching steam washer to be stacked after doing much research and seeing this was THE unit to buy. Unfortunately I never had a chance to use it to find out. I had to return them to the store since they would not FIT into my appliance room. This unit is advertised as being 28.33 inches deep - NOT TRUE. The electric dryer has a 4" metal protruding "shell" on the back of the dryer which covers internal parts and a 1" protruding bubble door in front. Apparently they only measure the parts covered in porcelain. I was later told that electric units are always larger than gas units.
In reality the electric dryer in this model measures about 34" (the delivery men told me that several of these unit are returned each week for this problem). If you plan to stack them, you will need an additional 4-5 inches for the vent to run behind the unit. Therefore, this dryer extends almost a full foot more in depth than advertised. If you plan to by a dryer that fits in a hallway closet or in a laundry room with a doorway/walk-through, be sure to check real measurements.
