Torn on this one...

The Bottom Line: I would not recommend it merely because I am on number 2 dryer in 26 days and this one has broke down as well.
June 4, 2008 we purchased the LG DLEX7177WM dryer along with the matching washer. I haven't had a new washer and dryer in 15 years so I was excited to get a front loader. When we brought it home it worked wonderfully. The clothes dried quickly with few wrinkles and always smelled great. Then on June 18, 2008 every time that I put a load of clothes in the dryer it would dry for 6 minutes, the timer would go off and the dryer would stop. I had to keep going in the laundry room every 6 minutes to turn it back on. I finally called LG. They told me to wash the sensor in the dryer with a wet washcloth (and assumed I was using dryer sheets which I wasn't). That didn't work. They told me to unplug the unit for a few minutes to reset it. That didn't work.
Since we purchased the unit at Sears we were told to call them for their warranty department. I called them and no one could come out for 5 days. That was unacceptable (especially considering the cost of the washer, dryer AND extended warranties with Sears so we put the dryer in the truck and exchanged it. Dryer works fantastic!
Fast forward to tonight, June 30, 2008 - dryer exhibits same problems. I called LG, same story as last time. They told me to call Sears in the morning. I am too frustrated to have to keep returning the item to the store and exchanging it and I do not want to and am not willing to wait 5 days for a technician. I am terribly disappointed.
I think I will stay away from LG from now on.
