Great LCD TV for the First 14 Months

Great TV for the first 14 months...good picture, however the 15:9 aspect ratio was a bit odd. Sound was adequate but I had mine running through a small HT system. TV worked great until Christmas eve...turned the set off and it hasn't worked since. I now have a black screen with sound. Reviewing internet, this is a typical problem with LCD TV's...the backlight inverter fails. I did not expect this one to fail within 14 months though. I have been unable to get Vizio on the phone after numerous tries...always a 30 minute wait. The backlight inverter is available in China with a month lead time. Local electronics shop confirms that Vizio LCDs fail often and parts are an issue. Do not believe I will purchase another Vizio.
