My favorite liner

Let me start this out by saying that no liner is perfect. Every type I've tried allows soft stools to get around the edges and a little onto the diaper. This has never bothered me much, as 90% of the waste still stays on the liner and that little bit on the diaper will easily come out in a pre-rinse cycle (which you should always do when washing cloth diapers anyway).

That being said, Kushies are my favorite because they easily fit on the diaper - whereas the other kind is so large I end up having to fold it around the diaper cross-wise, making it much shorter than the Kushies. The reason I like having a longer liner is because I fold up the front a bit so I always have a clean bit of liner on the front to use like toilet paper to wipe my son mostly clean - that way I use fewer baby wipes.

I agree that the Kushies don't wash as well as the other kind, but I've never been satisfied with reusing the liners anyway - as the texture after washing seems like it would be uncomfortable against soft baby skin. So, I do run them through the wash with the diapers - but then throw them away. That way, I don't have to separate them as I'm putting the diapers in the pail, and they don't stink up the garbage when I do throw them away.

All in all, for our lifestyle, the Kushies are the better choice.
