The convenience of an electric kettle that is not tethered to a socket is as much a leap forward as when the kettle left the stovetop...
Now with so many to choose from I looked first for good appearance and utility in a smaller unit. This Krups has no unsightly lumps or bumps, which equates to easy to clean.
It is easy to fill, grab, pour, clean inside & out, and has a pleasing blue light in the handle's On button that simply clicks off when done...
The lid takes about a thirty degree twist to unlock and remove, which is pretty cleverly done, as it both fits easily and houses the off actuator connecting to the handle switch. A poor design or awkward operation here would ruin the whole thing...
The upward tapered shape does not promote tipping...
The cord stows any slack hidden in the base and the liquid level sight glass both sides is idiot proof...
It doesn't see any abuse here, and I don't plan on drop testing it, but I suspect it could tip or fall without serious damage or spill. They use a good quality stainless steel, not overly light or heavy...
It has worked well every day now for a year. It lives on it's base, which also keeps any contacts safe, but it's just as comfortable as a hot water pitcher...
