Krups Allegra

I just purchased an Allegra after 12 years using an 871 model. It works differently. Unless, someone can tell me why water spills over the coffee basket, I have remedied it by moving the dial to frothing before the water starts spurting out through the coffee basket.

When you move the dial to the frothing setting, the seeping stops and then you can froth.

Another thing, I replaced the frothing sleeve with the ventura apparatus that came with my other model. This frother enables me to cover the little hole in the rubber cap of the frother to reduce the amount of froth being made hence the milk heats up better.
