Definitely good at reducing noise, just wish they had bass...
Pros:
Great noise reduction, volume knob on ear, dont feel cheap or flimsy
Cons:
40hz on low end... wish they went lower so they had bass
The Bottom Line:
Great set of headphones if your not a bass junkie. Saves your ears and reproduces 40hz and up with great clarity.

Author's Review
I recently was on a search for a new set of what I call earmuff type headphones. I started using them for online gaming so that I would hear more of the game sound than ambient real world sounds. I had never thought of it as "noise reduction" but, thats exactly what I was doing and looking for. I came across these KOSS quiet zone headphones and gave'em a shot.
WHAT I LIKE :
- As soon as you don these babies you get the effect of putting on ear protection like you would typically use for firearms.
- The sounds come through very crisp and clear. Once you do have some audio, you dont hear anything else going on around you unless its something very loud.
- I dont have to crank the volume up to overpower everything else.
- The left earpiece has a built in volume knob for quick and easy adjustment.
- These headphones dont feel cheap or flimsy like some others I've experienced.
WHAT I DONT LIKE :
- I knew before I had them that their specifications mentioned 40hz as the low end on the frequency response. I was hoping it wouldn't be that noticable but, I definitely can tell. There are certain bass notes that dont come through the way they were meant to sound.
NEITHER GOOD OR BAD THINGS :
- has a coiled up type cord with a good reach
- has a mono/stereo switch built into cord about 12 inches from headset. I have no use for the switch other than curiosity of what something sounds like in mono vs. stereo when I'm really bored. hehe...
Overall I think its a great set of headphones as long as your not worried about getting alot of bass thump from them. As far as the gaming stuff, they are EXCELLENT in that aspect. Plus, if your looking to tune out the crying baby, your nagging old man/lady, the hum of a plane, or whatever else without going deaf, these are great.
