The Bottom Line: i would for sure buy these if you have an extra 30 dollars around.
when reading about these headphones at headphone.com, i was wondering how such an inexpensive product got such high remarks from their team. i decided to give it a try and listen to it myself.
for around 30 dollars, this is cheap for pair of headphones that offers the kind of sound produced. it has a nice, rich sound that is strong in bass and is pretty clear. this is one of the best values out there.
i chose this model over it's brother, the ur 20 becuase it did fold up. it is a very nice feature that takes overly large headphones down to a clump of plastic and wires. the length of the cord is 8 feet, so when folded the cord will also need to be organized to get a nice and tight package, something that is sometimes hard to do. a shorter cord would have been nice, seeing as how this was aimed at more portability. but the 8 feet length justifies using this as a main set of headphones for your house and to be able to take them on the go.
because this is a closed set of headphones, it offers really good isolation. the heaphones alone block out a substantial amount of noise, more than average closed headphones. this is because the pads of them wrap completely around your ear. this also produces a comfortable feeling that i personally prefer.
the only complaint that i have is that it doesn't fold up smaller. i took these on a trip to london and it was large and just kind of got in the way when i tried to stuff other things into my backpack. when folded, it is about the size of 2 or 3 stacked cd players.
