Great fun for your whole family
Pros:
Great workout, lots of fun, easy to learn, different ability modes
Cons:
Not enough songs, some songs are too slow to actually dance to
The Bottom Line:
I would recommend this to anyone who likes dancing and doesn't mind making a fool of themselves sometimes.

Author's Review
I bought this for my family about a month ago. The game itself is very easy to learn and there are different ability levels so that everyone can join in on the fun. There are also different modes on there so that you can choose which type of gameplay you want to do. Theres groove circuit mode, which I think is more for the gamer type of player. The game chooses your songs at each venue and you have to beat the venue to move on to the next one. You have to dance to different songs and beat the dance master. There are 50 songs and you can unlock other songs as you beat levels in the groove circuit mode.
There is also a free style mode that you can just choose whatever songs you want to dance to and you get a grade and points, but there is no competition unless you have another dance mat. If you only have one mat, it is basically just competing against yourself and developing your skills.
If you do have more than one mat, there are several other options for you, but I want to caution you, if you do get a second mat, be careful about which one you choose. We bought a second mat at Best Buy that wasn't the original brand and it ended up not working after about an hour so we had to bring it back. I would probably just recommend finding another konami one if you can find it.
There is also a workout mode, which is kind of cool, but its also kind of annoying. You can choose how many calories you want to burn and it will keep track of your calories burned based on your weight. But I think it is annoying that they have to update the clorie count after every song, because if you are just in basic mode, you will only burn like 5 or 6 calories a song. Once you get to the more difficult songs of course, it is a lot more, but I just wish they would let you play until you've reached your goal.
I also wish there were more songs, some of the songs get kind of old after a while and some of the songs are really just too slow to keep a real beat to. I think this is really great for a family game because it is very easy to use and learn. And you can make it more challenging or less challenging by turning off/on hand markers and turning off/on gimmicks. It is a great workout and a great way to get your family moving.
