Product Review

Amazingly Impressed

by   themercantile ,   Dec 23, 2003

Pros:  A great camera for someone looking for point and shoot features. Great family camera!

Cons:  The silly little lens cap is really a pain!

The Bottom Line:  I would recommend this for anyone who wants to take great pictures with ease!

Overall Rating: 5/5 stars

Author's Review

My experience with Kodak has not been very positive, so when my husband presented me with this camera for Christmas, I didn't quite know what to say. I told him that I would try it out and see what it could do. Keep in mind, all I really want was a simple to use, point and shoot camera that works well with families. My kids don't stand still long and photographic moments seem to take hours. Anyway, I got the kids all fixed up and started taking pictures.

What initially impressed me was the shutter speed. I had had a Fuji 2.1 mp that seemed to take forever for the picture to take. I don't have a lot of experience with shutter lag, but I was happy with the speed. I kept the quick view on, and was really happy with the snapshot. From what I could tell, the camera seemed to be doing well.

The next step was to look at them on the computer. The software loaded quickly and we were able to see the pictures soon. I only used the Auto Mode and was really impressed with the quality of the pictures taken outdoors as well as indoors. I had forgotten to use the Red Eye Reducer, so I got red eyed children, but easily fixed.

I will say that the Kodak software included has some touch up features, but I couldn't get them to work. I didn't spend a lot of time, just switched over to a different program for editing.

When I printed out the pictures, I was very happy. The pictures print great from just my printer, I can hardly wait to try out a professional printer!

I had mixed feelings when my technology challenged husband handed it to me, but I am really happy that he asked someone at the store for their opinion. All in all, I am very impressed with this little camera!
