Author's Review
In raising a family, I have gone through numerous cameras, which didn't survive diaper bags, hand bags, luggage and just being carried around. After spending a small fortune on each of them, I decided to step back and rethink what I had been doing. I decided to just use disposable cameras without having to worry about losing, maintaining, breaking them or replacing batteries. I don't even need to locate the cord to download my photos.
THIS CAMERA
This camera measures 4½ inches wide by 2½ inches high by 1¾ inches deep. It is made of a durable plastic with flash and zoom features. The zoom feature allows a 35% close up view, controlled by a flip switch on the right front of the camera. The top of the camera has a window, counting down the photos left on the roll. On the front base, there are raised dots that allow for a good grip. On the right front, there is a slot opening to permit usage of your own handle, for convenience (not included). The camera is purchased with pre-inserted 35mm 800 speed film. This is great for taking inside photographs in dimly lit rooms or outdoor photographs in the shade, as it has the flash.
I am generally not a fan of disposable items, however in this case, it is more cost effective for me to purchase my disposable camera, have it developed and burned to a cd. I can view my favorite photos on my computer, or have the photos installed into my digital picture frame. I get the best of both worlds, high tech cd, and the old fashioned paper photographs.
These disposable cameras are sold in a sealed foil package, under the cardboard. The package is dated, so you know how long your film and batteries will stay fresh. I have not yet seen these for sale in multi-packs.
USAGE
We had placed these cameras at the tables during my recent wedding reception, they have this cool "tuxedo" look, they were nice. My family and friends had a blast taking pictures. We loved viewing these little photo treasures after our special day was over.
One other point I should mention, is that I don't need to read a book of instructions for usage. I don't need to memorize how to work it, nor do I need to instruct anyone else, if they are taking a photo. You just point and click, then manually wind.
These cameras are available in large department stores and even some card shops. I generally keep 3 or 4 of these cameras on hand, as you never know when a photo opportunity may come about. The clarity of the pictures is outstanding for a disposable camera.
BOTTOM LINE
It is light weight, requires no maintenance and is simple to use. It is also very helpful to keep one in the glove compartment of your car, in the event of a motor vehicle accident. If you are not looking to make an investment in a camera, or if you need one in a pinch, I would suggest you try this disposable camera.
Thank you for reading my review.
